Malibu Wines is a family-owned and operated winery based in Malibu, California. The company was founded in 1999 by the late Malcolm Hoenlein, who came to California from South Africa in 1960.
Malibu Wines produces wines from Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Monterey and Santa Barbara Counties. The company also produces sparkling wines under the label “Malibu Sparklers.”
Malibu Wines owns vineyards and other agricultural properties in four counties: Napa Valley, Monterey County, Santa Barbara County and Sonoma County. The Cornell Winery and Tasting Room is located in Malibu, California in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains. We are minutes from the 101 freeway and just a short drive from the beach.

Saddle Rock in Malibu is located on Pacific Coast Highway (also known as PCH) just south of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The restaurant has been open since 1946, and has been owned by the same family for three generations now.
Saddle Rock has undergone many renovations over the years, including adding a bar area and expanding their patio seating area. Even though the restaurant has changed over the years, it still maintains its old-fashioned charm.
The menu at Saddle Rock is extensive, offering everything from steaks to seafood dishes like lobster tail and shrimp cocktail!
There are two things that everyone knows about Saddle Rock: they have great food and they have an amazing view! Saddle Rock in Malibu, California, is a private beachfront community of luxury homes.
The estate was built by prominent Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn and his wife Lillie, who bought the property from Charlie Chaplin in 1946. The Goldwyns hired architect Wallace Neff to design their home and landscaping around it.
In 1954, the Goldwyns sold Saddle Rock to actor Gregory Peck and his wife Veronique Passani for $550,000 ($4 million today). Peck added another wing to the house, giving it its current look.
He also added a tennis court and swimming pool. Peck died in 2003 and left the estate to his son Michael Peck, who sold the home in 2006 for $14 million ($9 million today).
Since then, there have been several owners of Saddle Rock including actress Jennifer Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux who purchased the property in 2013 for $13 million ($8 million today).

Ledson Winery & Vineyards in malibu is a family-owned, family-operated winery specializing in estate grown wines made from grapes grown on our estate vineyards in the Santa Monica Mountains.
We have been making wine since 1978, and are proud to be one of the first wineries to plant vines in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Our wines are produced from 100% estate grown fruit. Our estate vineyards include our original vineyard, Ledson Vineyard, which was planted in 1978 on a historic cattle ranch known as the “Red Barn Ranch.”
We also own and operate an additional vineyard called Ledson Estate Vineyard which is located near Agoura Hills. The Ledson Estate Vineyard was planted in 2004 on land formerly owned by actor Gregory Peck.
Our wines are produced at our winery located near Malibu Creek State Park, where we produce small lots of limited production wines from select varietals grown exclusively on our estate vineyards.
The Ledson family has been growing grapes and making wine in Malibu since the 1970s. Their wines are made from 100% estate-grown grapes, grown on their own vineyards. The winery is located in the hills above Chatsworth, overlooking an expanse of vineyards, orchards and wildlife preserves.
About Ledson winery & vineyards
Ledson Winery & Vineyards was founded in 1971 by Tom Ledson, who planted his first vines on the property shortly after purchasing it. The winery is owned and operated by his son John Ledson and his wife Susan, who has been involved in the business since she started working there as a teenager.
Today they have over 1,000 acres under cultivation, producing about 20 million pounds of grapes per year for their Malibu Estate wines.

Boccali Vineyards
In the heart of Malibu, Boccali Vineyards is a popular destination for wine lovers and other visitors. Founded by Joe Boccali in the early 1900s, this historic winery was once a small family-run operation that specialized in making wine from grapes grown on the property.
Today it has grown into one of the most popular wineries in California, with a reputation for quality products and excellent customer service.
The Boccali family has been involved in the wine industry for more than 50 years. In 1960, Joe Boccali purchased his first vineyard from his father and began producing his own wines.
He was soon joined by his sons John and Tony who were also interested in learning how to make wine from scratch. The three men worked together to produce their first vintage which was sold at local markets throughout Los Angeles County.
In 1975 Joe’s oldest son John opened an office about 20 miles north of Los Angeles in Palm Springs where he could work on behalf of clients who owned land up north but lived in southern California.
Year round or just during the winter months when temperatures are milder than those found further inland or along the coastlines where much of our state is located.
After moving back and forth from Malibu to Palm Springs for several years, John decided to relocate permanently to Palm Springs.
In 1978 John Boccali opened his own real estate company, which he named Boccali & Associates, Inc., located at 622 North Palm Canyon Drive, Suite B-1 in Palm Springs.
Over the years Boccali & Associates has become one of the most respected real estate firms in Southern California with a long list of satisfied clients.

Bottom line
As anyone who lives in the region knows, there are many wineries in the Malibu area. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that most of these wineries are scattered along a stretch of coastline that is roughly six miles long.
Some of the larger wineries here include Chateau Marmont Winery, Eli Bridge Company Winery, and Paradise Canyon Winery. Each of these wineries offers its own distinctive experience and list of wines to sample.
With so much coastline, it’s no wonder that Malibu is one of the more popular wine regions in Southern California. Having grapes that are more suited to growing in a maritime climate doesn’t hurt either.
The Malibu region is second only to Santa Barbara when it comes to the number of wineries, and the climate is even better up here. Though they’re not known for red wines, their whites are excellent.
A good bet includes Monterey Canyon Chardonnay, Paragon Sauvignon Blanc, Flying Fish Pinot Gris, and King Estate Pinot Noir.
If you want to head to the area where most of the big-name Hollywood stars go for Malibu wine tours then look up Robert Merritt Wines and its sister winery called Starmont Winery.
A good winery is about family, friends and fun, with a view of the ocean to match. It’s about total relaxation and having a cold glass of wine with good people very close to the best coastline in the world.
With all that you’re paying for this pleasure, it should be so! You’ll find many different varieties available from these five wineries from Santa Monica to Oxnard.
We do recommend reservations, especially on weekends. You might have some difficulty finding any if you don’t!
