1) Go Scuba Diving
One of the best things to do in Mauritius is scuba diving. The coral reef surrounding the island is one of the most diverse in the world and you can find more than 400 species of fish here.
2) Visit The Grand Bassin Waterfall
The Grand Bassin Waterfall is not only one of the largest waterfalls in Mauritius but also one of the most spectacular sights on this island. It was formed by lava flowing down into an ancient volcanic crater which later filled up with rain water forming a natural reservoir.
The height of this waterfall varies between 25 and 35 meters depending on how much water flows through it during certain seasons or after heavy rains.
To get there you have to hike up a steep path for about 15 minutes from where you can admire this beautiful sight from above or below depending on how brave you are!
Visit the beaches
The beaches of Mauritius are world-famous for their white sands, turquoise waters, and palm trees. The island has over 70 beaches and is home to some of the most beautiful ones in the world.
Some of the best beach locations include Le Morne Brabant, Trou Aux Biches, Grand Baie, Flic en Flac and Tamarin Bay.
If you’re looking for a quiet day at the beach with a good book then choose Le Morne Brabant or Trou Aux Biches as they have no touristy facilities or annoying hawkers trying to sell you cheap souvenirs.

Parasailing can be done from any beach in Mauritius, but we recommend going parasailing near Port Louis as it is one of the best places in Mauritius for this activity.
You can book your parasailing trip at any of the operators or go there yourself and book a spot directly with them.
Before going parasailing make sure that you are wearing comfortable clothes and shoes and bring water with you, because it gets hot out there!
Parasailing is the use of a parachute to glide over water or land. It is used both recreationally and competitively – in the latter case, it was first developed as a means of gaining height in military training.
The sport of parasailing was first developed in the 1960s by US Air Force Colonel George William Hensley, who designed and built a man-lifting kite made of 17-ounce cloth and wood with an aluminium frame.
He also designed his own harness system that allowed him to control his flight through ropes attached to the kite and his feet. His first successful test flight occurred on 10 March 1961 at Lake Murray near San Diego, California.
In 1963 Hensley flew 32 miles (51 km) across San Diego Bay using this prototype until he reached an altitude of 3,000 feet (910 m). He later marketed his invention as “Para-Sail” which he claimed could allow tourists to view scenery from above while soaring over city skyscrapers.
Watch a sunrise of Mauritius
Mauritius is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. With its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and lush greenery, it is no wonder that the island has been voted one of the top 10 best islands in the world.

With its tropical climate and warm weather all year round, Mauritius offers spectacular sunrises every day. The best place to watch these sunrises is at Le Morne Brabant National Park which overlooks the Indian Ocean.
At this location you can see whales, dolphins and turtles swimming in their natural habitat while enjoying your breakfast or dinner with a delicious Mauritian dish.
You can also take a walk through the park where there are many trails leading you through different landscapes from mountains to valleys and waterfalls.
This is an ideal spot for nature lovers who want to spend some time away from civilization but still remain close enough so that they can explore when they want.
So, here are some places where you can watch a sunrise in Mauritius:
Le Morne Lookout: This is one of the highest points in Mauritius and offers an amazing view of the Indian Ocean and Le Morne Mountain. The best time to visit this place is at sunrise or sunset.
Grand Bassin: This place is known for its beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets. Watch the sun rise over Grand Bassin beach and enjoy watching dolphins play in the water.

Walk along the coastline of Mauritius
The coastline of Mauritius is one of the island’s main attractions. It’s fringed by beautiful beaches and coral reefs, making it an ideal location for snorkelling and diving.
If you take a walk along the coast, you’ll come across some spectacular views – but you might also find yourself in the company of some strange creatures!
The most famous beach on Mauritius is Le Morne Rouge, known for its dramatic red cliffs and towering rock formations. This is a great place to relax with a book and enjoy the scenery.
Another popular spot is La Pointe aux Canonniers, which offers fabulous views over the lagoon and towards Réunion Island. It’s also possible to visit La Citerne d’eau potable (a water reservoir), which has been converted into a botanical garden and nature reserve.
Mauritius is a country that’s worth exploring on foot. The island has a fantastic network of trails, many of which pass through some of its most picturesque landscapes.
The best place to start is in the north, where you can follow the coast from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens to Chamarel Falls. This six-kilometre walk offers panoramic views over the sea from a high plateau, before dropping down into lush forests and coastal mangroves.
If you want to explore Mauritius by foot, but don’t have time for a long trek, consider taking this self-guided walking tour around Port Louis and Le Morne Cultural Landscape.
The route takes in both sides of the bay and passes some of the capital’s most important landmarks including Fort Adelaide and Place de la République.
Visit the most famous temple in Mauritius
It is the most famous temple in Mauritius. This temple is located at Maricourt, in the north of Mauritius. It is a Hindu Temple and it was built by Indian workers who came to work on the sugar cane fields.
The temple is dedicated to Shri Hanuman, the monkey God, who symbolizes strength and devotion. The name of the temple comes from “Shree” which means “goddess” and “Hanuman” which comes from two words: Hanu meaning hand and manu meaning monkey. So Hanuman means “the hand of a monkey”.
This temple has been built in 1868 by an Indian worker named Ram Chandra Ramji Gupta with his own money and effort. This temple was built near his house (nowadays it is called Shree Hanumanji Temple).
Le Grand Temple de la Compagnie – This is the most famous temple in Mauritius. It was built by Indian labourers who came to Mauritius to work on sugar plantations in the 19th century.
The temple can be found at La Riviere des Anguilles near Port Louis. The original structure was destroyed by fire in 1831, but it was rebuilt in 1833 with a more spacious design and inaugurated on July 21st 1834.
The temple was closed down in 1838 due to financial difficulties but reopened again in 1841 under the patronage of Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy, who also contributed towards its renovation. It is now managed by the Le Grand Temple de la Compagnie Trust.
Visit the best Tea Plantation in Mauritius
If you are in Mauritius and want to visit the best tea plantation in Mauritius, then I would strongly suggest that you visit this place. It is one of the most beautiful places in Mauritius and also a great tourist attraction.
The tea plantation is located on the south-western coast of Mauritius, near Port Louis and is called Le Morne Brabant. It was initially used as a sugar cane plantation during the time of slavery, but later on it was converted into a tea plantation due to the high demand for tea during that time period.
There are many things to do at this place which include hiking through the mountains and valleys, bird watching, observing wild animals like lemurs and monkeys, swimming in natural pools or just relaxing under a tree after a long day of doing nothing!
The Tea Plantation is located in the south of Mauritius, at the foot of the Black River Gorges National Park.
It is one of the most beautiful places on the island, with its magnificent views over the Indian Ocean. The plantation covers an area of about 1,500 hectares and produces about 1 million kilos of tea per year.

Enjoy the underwater life at Blue Bay Marine Park
Blue Bay Marine Park is located in the city of Batangas and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. It is a haven for divers and snorkelers, who enjoy exploring the underwater world of this marine park.
The marine park has an area of approximately 1,000 hectares and has been divided into two zones: the North Zone and South Zone. The South Zone is where you can find the famous Blue Lagoon.
Which is considered to be one of the most beautiful diving spots in Southeast Asia. The North Zone features coral reefs that are home to countless species of colorful fish, as well as schools of barracudas.
The best time to visit Blue Bay Marine Park is during summer when water temperature reaches up to 29 degrees Celsius (84 Fahrenheit).
However, even though it may be hot during summer, there are still plenty of activities that you can do at the park, such as snorkeling or kayaking around the mangrove forest.
The park has three dive sites:
Blue Bay Wall – This wall offers both shallow and deep dives, with large coral formations, gorgonians and barrel sponges. You can find reef sharks here as well as other large pelagic species like manta rays and eagle rays.
Pico Island – At Pico Island there are two major dive sites: The Wall and The Cave. The Wall is a steep drop-off with lots of corals, while The Cave is a cavern formed by huge boulders covered by thickets of soft corals which contain small caves filled with schools of fish.
Mangrove Point – The Mangrove Point area features an extensive mangrove forest habitat where visitors can enjoy snorkeling or diving along the coral reef that runs parallel to it.
Hike to Chamarel Waterfall
The hike to Chamarel Waterfall is one of the most popular day hikes in Mauritius. The waterfall is located in the north-western part of the island, about 40 minutes from Port Louis.
Chamarel Waterfall is a series of cascades that fall over 800 feet (243 meters) into a gorge below. The first cascade begins at an elevation of 900 feet (274 meters), while the last cascade ends at an elevation of 400 feet (122 meters).
The hike to Chamarel Waterfall can be done as a day trip, but it’s best to stay overnight in one of the hotels near the falls so that you can enjoy them after dark.
Chamarel Waterfall is located in the Chamarel National Park of Mauritius, near Tamarin Bay. It is a popular tourist attraction and has a scenic view of the ocean with cliffs and mountains in the background.
The waterfall is one of the most popular spots on the island for hikers to visit. The journey takes about 2 hours one way as it is a fairly steep hike down to the base of the waterfall. There are no facilities at the bottom except for some rocks to sit on and enjoy your lunch break.
The trailhead starts at Chamarel Village which has several shops, restaurants and accommodations if you want to stay overnight before heading out on this hike. If you are staying at Tamarin Bay Resort & Spa or if you have your own transportation.
Then you can drive directly up to Chamarel Village where there are plenty of parking spaces available along with toilets and picnic tables near the start of the trailhead.
